Improving Students’ Learning in Classroom
What and How Can Research Really Inform Instructional Practice?

Lecture Abstract
One of the major goals of educational research is to maximize the learning opportunities for all students. Based on this important assumption, in this lecture, Professor Cai will first briefly summarize three lines of research he has engaged in the past two decades. Then he will discuss the insights from the two decades of research, as well as what and how research can inform instructional practice and improve students’ learning. This lecture will be ended with a discussion of the direction of future studies and the implications for teacher education.
